The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is designed to help students achieve their goals by creating a personal network of support at the University. Located on the Hartford, Storrs, & Waterbury campuses, the AAC provides holistic support and strategic academic counseling through four signature programs:

UConn’s Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills supports the intellectual growth of our students by providing programs and experiences that promote self-awareness and engagement as they identify a course of study and pursue opportunities to become contributing members of the state, national, and world communities.

Through partnership with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff, we connect students to quality career development resources, internships, experiential learning, and post-graduate opportunities.

The Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) collaborates with students, faculty, family members, and the greater UConn community to promote holistic student success and ensure a comprehensively accessible and inclusive environment. The CSD engages in an interactive process with each student and reviews requests for accommodations on an individualized, case-by-case basis. Depending on the nature and functional limitations of a student’s documented disability, they may be eligible for reasonable and appropriate accommodations.

The primary goal of the Dean of Students Office is to help every undergraduate Husky succeed at UConn. We aim to foster a strong sense of community and belonging for all students. Academic Center for Exploratory Students

• ACES is UConn’s academic advising program for students who want to explore the University’s academic opportunities before deciding on a field of study and for students who must complete specific requirements before applying to an application-based major.

The Major Experience

• TME is designed to encourage the intentional exploration of majors in a holistic and interactive manner. Using a personalized approach, students are given the appropriate tools and support to choose a major(s) with confidence and, once declared, make the most of their time in that program.

Pre-Law Advising at the University of Connecticut supports students and alumni exploring law school and legal careers through one-on-one advising appointments, drop-in hours, and guidance from trained peer advisors. The office also keeps students and alumni informed through regular newsletters and offer events throughout the year—including panels, workshops, and law school fairs—to help them learn about the field and navigate the application process with confidence.

UConn’s Pre-Professional Advising Office provides advising and resources to UConn students and alumni exploring certain careers in the health professions.

The office specializes in supporting pre-medical, pre-dental, and pre-physician assistant students/alumni, but encourages anyone interested in a healthcare career to explore the many pathways available. Their advisors focus on competency-based advising, encouraging students and future applicants to engage in self reflection, rigorous pursuit of academic enrichment, and intentional exploration of co-curricular activities and engagement. 

The Student Support Services (SSS) program at the University of Connecticut works to expand access for first‑generation, low‑income, and underrepresented students by providing a strong network of academic and personal support. Through services such as tutoring, counseling, advising, and peer mentoring, SSS helps students navigate university life and achieve their academic goals.

The Student-Athlete Success Program (SASP) recognizes the unique needs of the student-athlete and provides an individualized, holistic approach to supporting their efforts to reach their full potential academically, personally, and athletically during their time at UConn.  SASP works collaboratively with the UConn community to help our student-athletes as they transition into the university, progress through their coursework, receive their diploma, and move on to succeed in graduate school, the work force, or to compete at the next level.  SASP supports the overall mission of the university, helping every student-athlete grow intellectually in their effort toward earning a degree from UConn and becoming productive members of their communities.

The primary goal of the program is to assist student-athletes in reaching their educational goals while competing in intercollegiate athletics. SASP counselors function as liaisons between the athletic and academic communities.
